An Apology For Idling
Just quickly: I am in the midst of an extended sabbatical, hence the little-to-no output. I know, I know, Mrs Watson-esque!
But I think I will return once the season gets down to the business end.
For the record, I still think St. Kilda is the biggest threat, as their game style holds up well in September: As ugly as it is, defence wins the big ones. This is why I still have some questions about Hawthorn. Granted, they have found some form at the right time, but that back six is shakier than Matthew Knight's job. (Note: I just read the Prismall comment, and while I agree that he should be getting a game, does it perhaps say something about Geelong's structure making players look better than they are?) Collingwood and the Bulldogs are just ramping up for their annual Spetember disappearing act. And the best we can hope for from Freo is probably behind them.
As for the Cats, no need for concern at this point. I'm pretty sure, just like me, they're in full-on "wake me up when it's September" mode. And there's still good players to come back into the side. Speaking of which, how good is Trav Varcoe looking these days? I think Mrs Watson is ready to propose.
Till then, folks.
